Special Congress Meeting Cancelled

TThe Bermuda Football Association (BFA) have confirmed that they will no longer reconsider the resumption of football. After some consideration, the Chairman of the President’s Forum requested that another Special Congress be held. The Bermuda Government also publicly proposed that the BFA should reconsider the initial decision to end the 2020/21 football season after the clubs voted during the Special Congress Meeting on Monday, March 15th, 2021. 


With the new COVID-19 cases recorded in Bermuda, Premier David Burt, announced changes in the Public Health Regulations which come into effect Sunday, March 21st. These regulations include a reduced number of maximum occupants within a public setting and an amended curfew. The BFA were further advised the large gathering exemption approved by the Ministry of National Security was rescinded.


The BFA intended on holding a second Special Congress Meeting to discuss the resumption of football on Monday, March 22nd, in consideration of the Bermuda Government proposing Member Clubs to reconsider the decision to end the season.  However, based on the new restrictions the Congress Meeting has been cancelled. 


The BFA have announced that all football inclusive of Senior, Children's, Youth boys and girls will not proceed. The 2020/21 season has concluded. We look forward to the start of the 2021/22 football season.
