Vickers Names Bermuda Team for 2023 CFU GU14 Challenge Series

Bermuda Under-14 Girls’ National Team head coach DonVickers has named the 20 players who will represent Bermuda in Antigua &Barbuda. The tournament will see the twenty teams divided into two tiers (TierI & II) with 14 national teams from around the Caribbean competing in TierII while six (6) teams will battle in Tier I for the coveted Challenge Series trophy.

GOALKEEPERS (2): Nalini Minors, Semaj Baisden-Scott

DEFENDERS (8):Antoinette Barry, Azae Burrows, Day-Asha Dill, Harli Basden, Jada-Lai Gibbons, Miyari Trott, Natural Simmons, Serenity Armstrong

MIDFIELDERS (5): Aunika Dzurus, Avery Taylor, Cayli Dowling, Daley Outerbridge, Freja Dzurus

FORWARDS (5): Jada O’Brien, Malayah Curtis-Adams, Maria Da Sa, Priya Denbrook, Tayte Glasgow

This year’sCFU U14 Challenge Series will be a great opportunity to expose these fantasticyoung ladies to international football. This is a young team, but they havecome a long way and we are excited to see how they will compete at the internationallevel,” Vickers says of his team as they prepare to travel to Antigua andBarbuda for the tournament.

The 14 national teams in Tier II include Anguilla(AIA) Antigua and Barbuda (ATG), Barbados (BRB), Bermuda (BER), Bonaire(BOE), Curaçao (CUW), Dominica (DMA), Grenada (GRN), Guadeloupe (GLP),Martinique (MTQ), Saint Kitts and Nevis (SKN), Saint Lucia (LCA), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), and U.S. Virgin Islands (VIR).

Bermuda was drawn in Group B, which is a Tier II group, and will face off against, the tournament host, Antigua and Barbuda,Barbados, and Bonaire. The match schedule for Team Bermuda is below.

  • August 18 vs Antigua and Barbuda
  • August 19 vs Bonaire
  • August 20 vs Barbados
  • August 22 vs TBD

The August 22 match will be decided based on group ranking.

Our GU14 team is looking to finish at the top of their group.
