Kirt 'Dasher' Douglas

From a young tender age, Kirt "Dasher" Douglas developed a passion for football. While attending Elliot PrimarySchool, Kirt was able to fulfill his football passion, by playing and representing his school's football team. Kirt went on to attend Churchill Crawford Secondary School, where he continued his football career, and enjoyed running.

At that time, Kirt's gym teacher, Randy Benjamin, also a Cougars coach, persuaded him to join Cougars, where he played for two seasons. During this period, Patrick Daniels introduced a neighborhood team, Wolves, where Dasher transferred over to represent his neighborhood team. Due to his speed, Kirt was given the nickname, "Dasher Douglas". Dasher was promoted to the First division [now Premier Division] three times while winning Shield Cup in the Second division [now First Division]. This journey led to winning FA Finals, not once, but twice! Dasher decided to return to Cougars, where he won an FA Cup and represented his team four times in the finals at National Stadium.

In 1981, during his first season with Cougars, Dasher was selected to represent Bermuda through the Bermuda National Squad, where he traveled and played in Mexico, Trinidad, and Barbados. During the second season, Dasher represented Bermuda in Venezuela at the PENAM Games.

While Cougars underwent a breakup, Dasher was contacted by Vasco to join their team, which he did so for a short two seasons, prior to reuniting with his Wolves team, only this time, he returned as a player-coach, where he remained for the duration of his football career. Before leaving Vasco, Dasher won the League Cup, FA Cup, and Dudley Eve Cup.

Dasher, alongside, Vince Minors and Kevin Trott, introduced a successful youth program to Wolves, allowing them to mentor and coach many of Bermuda's young talent. This program not only enabled them to mentor and coach the youth but also allowed them the opportunity to travel to Black BirdTraining Camp in Philadelphia to strengthen the youth's skill set as they developed the next generation of Bermuda's football talent.
