The Bermuda Football Association continues to recruit referees for the season. In doing so, football coaches who are currently enrolled in the BFA Coaching “D” License course had the opportunity to learn firsthand what refereeing entails. The course was conducted under the leadership of Gregory Grimes and Lyndon Raynor, two former referees who represented the Bermuda Referees Association and Bermuda during international matches.
With the new Coaching licensing system being implemented during the 2009-10 season, 12 of the 25 coaches attended one of the two workshops offered. Not only will is this valuable information for the coaches but also have a clear understanding of the rules to the game. This will be an assist for these coaches, not only will they receive their “D” license coaching badge but can become a qualified referee. The second and final referee course will be held Saturday, October 10th, at the BFA field in Prospect, starting at 9am.
