For the past five years, the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) has worked hard to improve the islands #1 Youth Football program. During that span of time, each year has been rewarded with success in every aspect of the organization, youth players, and participation from volunteers.
In 2002, Appleby came on board as the title sponsor, and since then, they’ve generously donated $155,000.00 towards the BFA Youth Committee and its programs. Without this substantial financial support, we would not have been able to revamp the program. With that said, each age group division in the league has seen a substantial increase of 150%. This increase covers the players, teams, coaches and administrators. We at the BFA clearly recognize the significance of Appleby and their commitment to the BFA Youth Committee and the leagues.
As we continue to strive forward in the most professional manner, the BFA continues to work with the community, making sure the worlds #1 sport can see all involved working for one common goal. The objective is to provide a first class quality Grassroots program year in, year out.
This year, the bar was raised yet again. With a total of 100 teams signed up for the season, this meant, we produced (735 matches) for 1,650 registered players, (boys & girls) representing 100 teams from 20 clubs beginning October 1st, 2007 to April 20th, 2008.
As we continue to strive forward for the betterment of football, one must continue to respect, honor and lead by example on and off the field. We must not stop here; the only way is forward with everyone on board. Ask not what football has done for you but what you can do for Bermuda, by being a positive role model via football.
The 2008/09 season will be even more challenging but with your support, we will see each child happy, physically fit and making new friends. As per the former motto of FIFA – “FOOTBALL IS FOR ALL” and that includes you! Join us as a coach, referee, administrator or as an positive supporter of your club. You will feel the passion that football brings to each and everyone, who is touched by the “Game of Life”.
