Alfred Eve, elected as new Honorary V.P.

He began playing football and cricket for Young Men’s Social Club (YMSC) at the tender age of 15. Years later he moved onto Western Stars Sports Club in Cricket. Alfred Eve, commonly known as Alfe Eve was a two sport athlete coming along as a young man. Eventually he solely focused on football and became one of the islands most outstanding coaches and administrators during his time.

While involved in football,he still had a hand in cricket, as he became an administrator for the Somers Isle Cricket League (SICL) during 1969 and 70. From 1971-79, he was the head man in charge of YMSC football team. During his tenure he coached some of the islands most outstanding players in their time. In the early 70’s, Eve along with  Carlton “Pepe” Dill, and others were one of the first to be introduced to then Technical Director, Alan Jones coaching course. One year later, the same two stand outs received their FA coaching badge in England. Still in the 70’s the same duo made history by becoming the countries first Head and Assistant local coaches at the Senior National level; Pepe Dill Head coach whilst Alfred Eve, Assistant coach.
He retired from coaching YMSC in 1979; however one year later he was involved with Pembroke Hamilton Club (PHC). During his 17 year stay, much was accomplished under his watch, as the Zebras won every cup or trophy during his time.  To date, it is reported that PHC is the only team not to have concede a goal during the CONCACAF tournament while playing at home.
Whilst coaching PHC, Eve found the time to be a part of the BFA Administrative Coaching team, known today as the Technical Committee team. He served under three different Presidents; Dr. Gerard Bean, Donald Dane and Charlie Marshall as the Youth Coach and Senior National Coach as Bermuda competed internationally.
