BFA Website Launch
President’s Article

18th April 2008

To the Family of Football I extend a huge welcome on behalf of the Executive and Affiliates of the Bermuda Football Association (“BFA”). What a wonderful new website www.bermudafa.com for us to launch so that all of Bermuda and the world can share our information and so that you can come to visit the virtual home of the Bermuda FA. You are most welcome to this website just as you are most welcome in the home of football in Bermuda and at any of our matches and Clubs in Bermuda .

The BFA has been extremely busy over the years but more importantly we have been excited about our progress over the last year having received a grant from the Bermuda Government in April 2007 of USD/BD $15 million over 5 years. These funds have been a wonderful boost to our programmes and our efforts to develop our football, players, coaches, referees and administrators alike so that Bermuda will be one of the best footballing countries at all levels in the Caribbean and in the wider CONCACAF region. We salute the Bermuda Government for all their support for the BFA over the years and we are grateful for the funding that has been committed to us.

Website Functions

I extend my sincere thanks to the Website and Records Committee chaired by Anthony Francis for the launch of our new website. They have produced a first class website which allows visitors to glean all the information they can about football in Bermuda . Whether its schedules, rankings, information from Committee Chairs or links to our Clubs and Affiliates www.bermudafa.com is a site that you should bookmark today as one of your favourites. This website will also be a backbone for the administration of football when we develop other phases that will allow automatic match and officials’ scheduling and for Clubs to go online and download forms, register teams and do other transactions with the BFA.

As you can see, the website is attractive with vivid colours and easy-to-find links that bring you the articles that you are interested in with a simple click of the mouse. The website is easy to navigate with up-to-date information, results and statistics that will make you want to visit us everyday!! The BFA will strive to be on the leading edge of charity and sport websites such that our website should win awards in various categories.

 Executive and Standing Committees

Our Executive has been busy working on the activities of football. I invite you to click on the articles as written by our Executive Members who chair all of our standing committees.  FIFA GOAL Project at Gym Field, Prospect, Bermuda

The BFA is extremely excited about the FIFA GOAL Project which has started excavation and construction at Gym Field. We will be installing a synthetic playing surface at the facility for it to become the national training centre for all our national teams. We also plan to base our Girls’ programme there and we want all of our Clubs to be able to use the facility for training and other events. Visit www.bermudafa.com to keep updated on the development of the Gym Field which is due to be ready this summer. The BFA thanks FIFA President Blatter, FIFA Vice-President/CONCACAF and CFU President Jack Warner for their vision and personal support in making our facility a reality. The BFA salutes FIFA!!!

To the Family of Football – we welcome you to www.bermudafa.com and we want to know that you will visit our website often so that you can get the most up-to-date information on the BFA and football in Bermuda .
