The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) and its Affiliates reconvened their Semi-Annual Congress meeting on Monday night, February 9th, 2009.
After much deliberation, all parties agreed torestructure the Premier and First Division Leagues for the upcoming (2009/10) football seasonwith(10) teams in the Premier Division and (9) teams in the First Division.
Jointly, it was agreed that the first (7) teams will remain in the Premier Division; whilst the first (2) teams from the First Division will be promoted. With that in mind, the (8th) place team of the Premier Division will play the (3rd) place team of the First Division in a two leg series playoff at a neutral field, at the end of this current season.
The winner of this two leg series will either remain in the Premier Division or be promoted to the Premier Division, while the loser will play in the First Division beginning (2009/10) season.
