Hornets are the 2008/09 Premier Dudley Eve Champions
Dandy Town Hornets came away victorious against the Boulevard Blazers during the finals of the Premier Division Dudley Eve Cup competition winning (6-5) on penalty kicks. The game was decided on penalty kicks after the being deadlocked at (2-2) during regulation time.

This victory was ever so meaningful for the Hornets as they dedicated this one to (19) year old Machai Campbell, who tragically lost his life last week.
However playing with only (10) men the Blazers fought to the very end; with minutes remaining in regulation time Hornets were ahead (2-1) licking their lips for victory. Less than (2) minutes Blazers were awarded a penalty after the Hornets were called for handing the ball in the box. Ajani Gibbons converted from the spot to level the score and send it to a penalty shootout.
From the outset both teams missed their first penalty shots as the two goalkeepers made saves. After that it was a matter of who will convert or miss as the two teams continued to score from the spot. Like anything else all good things must come to an end; and so it did, when Chea Simmons of Boulevard had his shot saved by the Hornets goalkeeper Daniel Johnson that sealed the win for an emotional Hornets team.
This will mark the Hornets (3rd) championship win in the Dudley Eve Championship. They previously won in (1986-87) and again (1993-94).
