Ralph Bean Jr. and Keishen Bean man handle PHC Zebras
Ralph Bean Jr. and teammate Keishen Bean, of North Village Rams carved their way into the Pembroke Hamilton Club defence during Sunday’s Friendship Cup Final, as the pair collected hat-tricks guiding the Rams to a soundly (7-3) thrashing at the National Sports Centre.
What was dubbed to be one of the best games in recent history, never did it live up to it’s expectations. From the first whistle blown, Rams ran ramped with Bean, scoring the first goal of the match. Within (10) minutes, Zebras scored the equalizer through Cecoy Robinson, and from that moment on, the two teams countnter punched with goals. With (11) minutes remainig before the half, Bean Jr. put the Rams ahead for good when he scored the the third and fourth goals, causing the Zebras defence all sorts of trouble.
Leading by two goals at the half, one would expect major changes from the Zebras but that was not the case, as they had no answer stopping the Bean and Bean show. The Rams continued to run all over Zebras during the second half, with their midfield controling the middle which allowed their front line to run into open space. Rams added three more goals to thier tally making sure they separted themselves from runners up PHC.
Sunday’s final also produced the highest scoring match in the Friendship Cup final, with (10) goals, North Village Rams (7), PHC Zebras (3). Duing the 1986/87 final, PHC got by St. George’s Colts in another high scoring affiar (4-3).
The "Rams" have now raised the cup for a 5th time.
