Bermuda's U20 Youth arrive safely in the Cayman Islands
Bermuda’s U20 Youth World Cup football team departed Bermuda early Monday morning for the Cayman Islands, as they take part in the U20 World Cup Youth qualifier starting Wednesday. The team arrived in the Cayman Islands, Monday afternoon safe and sound after traveling for a number of hours.

They arrived at their hotel at 12:45pm that afternoon, once they settled in, they all went for lunch. After lunch, the players and coaches gathered together to prepare for an afternoon training session. Their session was limited to only (45) minutes after they were informed the original schedule they requested for training had to be altered after a storm passed during the weekend leaving only (1) field to train on. Therefore the coaching staff went with plan (B) and decided to have their training session on the beach. Once the session was complete,  the players were allowed to relax at the pool side.

That same evening, they met with Technical Director, Derek Broadley, who just arrived from Blaine, Minnesota after working with a select (U17) team who competed in the just concluded Schwan’s USA CUP. Broadley and the coaching staff, met with the players and went over a few things that took place during their training session that day, they also included an itinerary for the next day’s session.

Meanwhile, Lloyd Smith, Head of Delegation for the Bermuda team will be interviewed live on their local television station with the President of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) during their 7am morning show.

Bermuda plays their first match of the tournament on Wednesday, against host country the Cayman Islands, Wednesday, July 23rd, followed by Jamaica, Friday, July 25th and finally, Puerto Rico, July 27th.
