U17 Gombey Warriors departed Bermuda today
The Bermuda Gombey Warriors U17, Youth Team departed Bermuda this morning as they’re off to Blaine, Minnesota, to compete in their first ever Schwan’s USA Cup International Youth football tournament that will include as many as 1,000 teams representing (22) countries around the world.
 
Beginning Friday, July, 11th – 13th, Bermuda will play (3) matches in (2) days, competing in the (V Elite Flight) that will consist of (2) groups of (4). The first match will commence Friday morning at 9:15am, while the second match will proceed at 2:55pm, and finally the third match will start at 9:15am the following morning.
 
The coaching staff will consist of Head coach Mark Wade, Assistants; Ray Jones, Troy Lewis and Technical Director, Derek Broadley. This will be an opportunity for the staff to access individual players during their (11) day stay.
 
Not only will this tournament be a test for the players but at the end of the month the u17 team will be off to Trinidad and Tobago, competing in the World Cup Qualifier.
