National Senior Men's team brace for Tropical Storm "Gustav"
Bermuda’s National Senior Men’s football team have prepared themselves for Tropical Storm, Gustav, which is now scheduled to hit land in the Cayman Islands later this evening or some time during the early hours of Saturday morning. Gustav, is currently (200) miles South East, moving West, NW at (8) mph.
 
At last report, the Cayman Islands Government, has scheduled to close the Airport at 12 noon their time, 2pm Bermuda time. As for their local business, Government Offices, Banks and local business are closed, as the Country now braces for Gustav.
 
Meanwhile, professional player, Khano Smith was able to depart Cayman Islands yesterday on a different flight; however Keishen Bean remains in New York after American Airlines suspended services to the island. Otherwise, our local players and officials remain calm at their hotel as they receive updates on tropical storm Gustav, every hour on television reports in the Cayman.
 
Anthony Francis, Head of Delegation for the Bermuda team stated, “We are as prepared as can be, players and officials are now waiting on the outcome of tropical storm Gustav. As for the Digicel tournament, Bermuda is scheduled to play Saturday at 5:30pm and again Sunday at 7:30pm. But we must remind ourselves on the outcome of the tropical storm.”
 
The Bermuda team is scheduled to return home Tuesday, September 2nd.
