The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) and league sponsor Digicel presented Dandy Town Hornets, league champions of the Digicel Premier Division with certificates to their players and coaches for winning the 2011/12 league season.
Larry Mussenden, President of the BFA, Wayne Caines, CEO of Digicel and Shane Mora, Marketing Director of Digicel was on hand to greet and present the certificates to the Hornets on the steps of City Hall. Overall, their league record was impressive; (40 Points, 13 Wins, 4 Defeats, 1 Draw, 49 Goals For, 26 Goals Against, difference of 23).
Meanwhile, Hornets won their second league title in three years. In addition, the 2011/12 season is by far the clubs most successful season, as they were multifaceted in all of football. Not only did they win the Digicel Premier Division, they won the Dudley Eve Cup, Digicel PDL league, Appleby U-14 Knock Out Cup, runner’s up in the Appleby U-16 Knock Out final. They still with one cup to play for, Hornets will meet Wolves in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Should they be successful, they will meet North Village Rams or Robin Hood in the finals, April 15th, at the National Sports Centre.
