Dandy Town Hornets won the Digicel Premier Division 2011/12 league title. Hornets ran away with the title with three league games remaining. Mathematically, they wrapped the Digicel Premier Division league when they drew against Somerset Trojans with two games remaining during the regular season.
For Hornets, this is their second (DPD) league title in three years. However, down the stretch the proud Pembroke West club won 1, lost 2 and drew 1 during their last three league games. As luck would have it, the two defeats came against second place North Village Rams (5-2) and third place Devonshire Cougars (3-1) at their home field. Hornets will now put their full attention on the FA Cup semi-finals against Wolves, April 1st. The coaching staff will now have a few days off to regroup their players as they prepare to collect another piece of silverware this season.
Hornets have already captured the Dudley Eve Cup, champions of the Digicel Player Development league, and now the Digicel Premier Division title.
