The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) was due to hold their first ever Beach Football tournament starting this weekend Saturday, August 9th, 2008. However due to a lack of responds from local Clubs and interested teams, the (BFA) have decided to cancel the tournament this year.
Timing is of the essence, and it clearly showed with so much interest leading up to the first ever beach football tournament, we did not factor in preseason training and players on vacation with their families.
The Premier and First Division Clubs have already committed to preseason training, including Commercial League teams as well; it became difficult for anyone to give 100% with their focus and concentration solely on preseason training with their respective club as they prepare for the start of the 2008/09 season.
In the meantime, we are looking to host the event next year 2009, with all parties on board for this new and exciting tournament too unfold.
