On Thursday June 26, the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) announced that Appleby had extended its sponsorship of Youth Football in Bermuda for the 2008/09 season. This new $45,000 package reinforces the close relationship between Appleby and the BFA. The partnership has developed over six years and represents a commitment from Appleby of almost a quarter of a million dollars that has assisted the BFA Youth committee, with their continued developmental programs.
Shaun Morris, Appleby Managing Partner commented “Appleby is strongly committed to developing Bermuda’s youth, particularly through our continued assistance to the BFA in developing young footballers of Bermuda. We believe that the great work done by the BFA will help young footballers develop important life skills and bring more exciting football matches such as last weekend’s FIFA competition.”
The funding provided for the 2008/09 season will allow the BFA to:
- provide equipment to 100 youth affiliates comprised of 1,650 players. The equipment provided includes; goal nets for each match field, footballs and first aid kits.
- continue to offer each newly certified youth referee with a complete Appleby referee uniform which consists of a shirt, shorts, socks, whistle, 2 flags and a referee note book.
