During the month of May, the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) broke ground on their new BFA field, formerly known as the Gym Field, located in Prospect, Devonshire, next to the Police Compound.
Smith, Hauling and Excavating have been overseeing the project since the (BFA) made the announcement last month and to date, the first of the two phase level field is complete, retaining walls and trenches are near completion and hopefully by the coming week, the (4) poles connected to the new lights will be completed. Within in the next few days, the entire site area will be cleaned in order for the second phase of the level field to be completed.
This new facility will become the Associations new Technical Centre for football throughout Bermuda paving the way as it will supplement existing facilities, allowing the BFA to run its development programs yearly and providing a valuable training resource for all national teams whenever required, this also includes clubs who would like to train/practice. This will be an historical moment for the BFA because this will be the first ever field facility they can house its own training and development programs.
