Bermuda 2 vs Trinidad and Tobago 1
Gombey Warriors stun Soca Warriors
BERMUDA( 2 ) TRINIDAD & TOBAGO (1)

What can only be described as sports history presented its self as Bermuda won round (1) of the first of the (2) leg World Cup Qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago (2-1) at the Marvin Lee Stadium,  in Port of Spain.

Thanks to John Nusum, as he found the back of the net, not just once but twice, in the first half scoring in the (7th) minute after he received a perfect pass from hard working Khano Smith. In the (38th) minute, Nusum struck again, when teammate Damon Ming challenged the Trinidad goalkeeper for the ball, which landed in front of Nusum, who made no mistake from close range putting Bermuda in front 2-1 for good.

That’s all Bermuda needed, (2) goals coming in the first half and then holding off the “Soca Warriors,” in the second half for a well deserved victory away from home. With this victory expectations will be running high from his moment forward however we must remain focused for the second leg this coming Sunday, at the National Sports Centre.

Congratulations are in order for Head Coach Kenney Thompson and his coaching staff, they stuck to their game plan from the start of the first whistle to the last whistle was blown. It clearly shows that Bermuda executed their game to perfection, and never did they let up.
Not only did Bermuda come away victorious but no one gave them a chance of winning in the first round; sports pundits and football fans expected either a draw or be down by (1 or 2) goals.

Come and support your “Gombey Warriors,” Sunday, June, 22nd, at the National Sports Centre when they will meet the “Soca Warriors,” in the second leg of the World Cup Qualifier. Kick off time is 7:30pm.
