The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) held their annual end of Season Football Awards for the 2007/08 season at the National Sports Centre Pavilion last evening.
Pembroke Hamilton Club, defender Kevin Richards walked away with the top award after he was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) after producing his best season in the Premier Division, and that’s not all; Richards was voted Male Defender of the Year. Kyle Lightbourne, Head Coach for the Zebras, joined his top player, after he was voted Male Coach of the Year.
In the Women’s division Chloe Martin, of North Village Lady Rams earned top honors as the Female Most Valuable Player (MVP) the Rams walked away with (2) other awards as Lindsay Kelly won Female Defender of the Year, while as a team they led by example on the field with the least amount of cards (0) for the entire season; for that reason they were rewarded Female Fair Play Team of the Year. Meanwhile, Head Coach of the Lady Rams, Jeremy Salaam joined his team as he was voted Female Coach of the Year.
Overall, a total of (17) awards were handed out by the Association, ranging from Most Improved Referee, Top Goal scorer and Top Goalkeeper.
