Senior players from the Premier and First Division will take part in the All-Star match
The Bermuda Football Association will be hosting an All-Star football match next month that will involve the islands top players from the Premier and First Divisions leagues at the National Sports Centre.
Players, from all clubs will have the opportunity to show case their skills amongst the best in this event. Coaches will select (3) players from each team to have a squad of (18) players from the (2) divisions. The respective coaches were chosen from their team’s performance during the regular season therefore Clubs that finished first and second in the Premier Division and first and second in the First Division will spearhead the coaching staff. In the meantime, the coaches will announce their (18) men squad next week.
In the Premier Division, the West will be represented by Somerset Trojans, Ireland Rangers, PHC Zebras and Dandy Town Hornets. The coaching team will be led by Jack Castle of PHC and assistant Scott Morton of Dandy Town Hornets. Meanwhile the East will be selected from Devonshire Cougars, North Village Rams, Boulevard Blazers, and Devonshire Colts. Their coaching staff will consist of Elliott Jennings of NVCC as their head coach and assistant Shaun Smith of Devonshire Cougars.
In the First Division, the West will be represented by Somerset Eagles, Southampton Rangers, Paget, Young Men Social Club, BAA and Prospect United. Janeiro Tucker, of Southampton Rangers will take charge of the coaching duties, with assistant, Kenny Thompson of Somerset Eagles. And in the East, St.George’s Colts, Wolves FC, St. David’s Warriors, X-Roads and Hamilton Parish will do the honors. Meshach Wade of Hamilton Parish will oversee the coaching staff with assistant Andrew Bascome of St.Davids’s.
In total, (72) players will lace up their boots to represent their respective Club and All-Star team at the National Sports Centre, Wednesday, May 7th starting at 6pm kicking off with First Division followed by the Premier Division at 8pm.
