Bermuda Football Association (BFA) Technical Director, Derek Broadley was awarded his Master Coach Award on Saturday the 17th of January 2009 at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Convention in St Louis, Missouri.
In total, (11) candidates were selected for this most intense course which lasted over an (18) month period. During that time candidates had to submit course work that entailed video presentations, coaching schemes of work, professional visits and an oversea study of football in England that included an extensive log book. All 11candidates successfully passed the course and were honored during the convention.
The Master Course follows a similar coaching pathway of European Courses (EUFA) in that, it is strung out over a time period with at least (25) course requirements being completed before the course is passed.
Broadley was selected over (2) years ago to participate based on his Distinctive Pass at the Premier Diploma Course level while working at the Reading Rage Soccer Club in PA, where he has been instrumental in establishing (NSCAA) courses here on the island along with creating a long term partnership opportunity for coaches in Bermuda to partner with the NSCAA.
The Master Coach Award is the newest and highest level of coaching education course offered in the US under the (NSCAA) scheme.
Everyone at the BFA wants to congratulate Derek on this achievement!
